‘Hanoi’ Jane Fonda Rips Trump’s Iran Strikes (Video)

Hollywood icon and longtime activist Jane Fonda traded the comfort of her multimillion-dollar Century City townhouse for a megaphone and protest signs Saturday, blasting President Trump’s military strikes on Iran while just miles away Iranian Americans flooded the streets in celebration.

The 88-year-old actress spoke before a crowd gathered outside Los Angeles City Hall, condemning what she called an “unnecessary, unprovoked war of choice” by the Trump administration. Fonda, who has been a vocal anti-war advocate since the Vietnam era, said the latest escalation felt hauntingly familiar.

“Right now, we are witnessing the horror of an unnecessary, unprovoked war of choice,” she told demonstrators. “Parents are pulling their children out of the rubble.”

At one point, Fonda appeared to mistakenly reference Iraq while describing the alleged bombing of civilian targets, though the current military action centers on Iran. She warned that the conflict could spiral into a broader war, putting American service members and civilians at risk.

The Academy Award winner also framed the strikes as a moral issue, accusing powerful interests of putting “profit over people.” She argued that defense contractors and oil companies stand to gain while ordinary families pay the price.

But just across town, the mood could not have been more different.

In Westwood — part of Los Angeles’ heavily Iranian enclave often dubbed “Tehrangeles” — hundreds gathered outside the Wilshire Federal Building waving American, Iranian and Israeli flags. Many celebrated the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the joint US-Israeli operation.

Some held posters thanking President Trump. Others danced in the streets.

“I want to cry. I want to scream. I want to dance. I want to laugh — but above all, I just want to celebrate,” said Shervin Khorramian, 55, as he waved an Iranian flag among the cheering crowd.

“For the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful,” he added. “This really could be the turning point for Iran.”

The striking contrast played out in real time: a Hollywood legend invoking memories of Vietnam and warning of catastrophe, while members of LA’s Iranian diaspora embraced what they see as a long-awaited blow to a regime they fled decades ago.

As tensions mount overseas, Los Angeles has become a microcosm of the debate gripping the nation — with protesters chanting for peace on one corner and celebrants waving flags on another.

  1. Just ticks me off when all these Hollywood fancy dancy’s have soooo much to say as they spew their crap from behind gated & patrolled security walls!
They’ll never be living amongst illegals or criminals or druggies or drug dealers but they can’t stop themselves from preaching to those that will suffer the consequences from unchecked removal.
NO JANE, today was a great day!!! ! Just ask any Iranian immigrant. If of course you can find one in your neighborhood!

  2. I wish Hanoi jane get the hell out of the United States of America, just for the pain she cause the US military in Nam. she is a total traitor and should be in prison. Better yet send her to North Vietnam and tell them she is their traitor and not an American citizen so she is their responsibility.

  3. First off she should have been jailed for her stunt in Vietnam that caused our prisoners of war dearly. Second, it amazes me how people in this country stand up for the perpetrators and not the victims. Iran is the world leader in propagating terrorism and has threatened to assonate our President on a number of occasions. If you note the reaction of the people who actually live there they were not upset at all and could be described as joyous. The regime killed around 7000 of them for protesting the terrible conditions in the country just as the Venezuelans did when we got rid of Madura. We have a bunch of very mixed up TDS people in this country who have simply lost all common sense and logic. When Democrats won’t even stand to protect American Citizens what the heck are they even doing in our Government?

  4. This broad is so totally irrelevant…why does anyone waste ink printing anything she thinks or says?

  5. Can we air expedite her to Tehran tonight, let her get what a sniper should have done in VietNam.
