It was beads, booze and bedlam for Shia LaBeouf — who ended his Mardi Gras night in handcuffs after an alleged street fight in New Orleans’ iconic French Quarter.
The troubled actor was arrested just after midnight Tuesday following what witnesses described as a chaotic confrontation outside a local bar, turning the city’s biggest party into a personal nightmare.
According to court records, LaBeouf is now facing two charges of simple battery.
Eyewitnesses claim the drama began when the actor was escorted out of the bar by staff for unknown reasons. But instead of calling it a night, things allegedly escalated fast.
Video obtained from the scene shows LaBeouf shirtless, his large back tattoo fully exposed, squaring off against several people on the street. In another tense moment, he appears to lean aggressively toward a man while speaking intensely, as stunned onlookers watched the situation spiral.
One witness said the actor initially walked away from the bar after the scuffle — only to circle back minutes later. That’s when paramedics arrived.
Footage shows LaBeouf receiving medical attention on the sidewalk. Though he didn’t appear seriously injured, he could be seen animatedly talking with emergency responders. Soon after, he was loaded into a waiting ambulance with its lights flashing, drawing a crowd of curious Mardi Gras revelers.
Police later placed him under arrest in connection with the alleged altercation.
The latest bust adds to LaBeouf’s long history of legal trouble and public struggles. In 2017, he was arrested in Savannah, Georgia, for public intoxication and disorderly conduct — a case that led to court-ordered rehab.
The actor has since spoken openly about battling addiction, PTSD and childhood trauma, revealing he has sought therapy and long-term sobriety support over the years.
Ironically, just hours before the alleged blow-up, LaBeouf had been spotted dancing and partying in the French Quarter, soaking up the post-Lundi Gras festivities like thousands of other tourists and locals.
But while the city kept celebrating, LaBeouf’s Mardi Gras ended in flashing lights, an ambulance ride — and yet another headline-making arrest.
