Former Child Star’s Shocking Extremist Lifestyle Revealed

Years after stepping away from Hollywood, former Little Rascals star Bug Hall has fully embraced a radically different life — one centered on faith, family, and living with as little as possible.

Hall, now 40, has relocated his wife and five children to a rural area near Mountain Home, Arkansas, where they are pursuing a homesteading lifestyle rooted in what he describes as “radical Catholic” beliefs. The former child actor said he has taken a vow of poverty and intentionally walked away from the money and comforts he earned during his years in entertainment.

According to Hall, he donated his savings, gave away most of his possessions, and now aims to live with as few financial obligations as possible. If a need arises, he said he will take on occasional cash work or odd jobs to cover necessities.

At the moment, Hall and his family are living in a camper van equipped with a generator and a water well. He has shared plans to eventually move completely off the grid by building a home with its own plumbing, electrical system, and even a small hydroelectric setup.

Education is another area where Hall has taken a firm stance. He and his wife, Jill, whom he married in 2017, homeschool their children and plan to strongly discourage them from attending traditional schools or college in the future, which Hall has referred to as largely unnecessary.

The move to Arkansas has become something of a family migration. Hall’s younger brother, mother, and stepfather have also purchased land nearby and settled in the area.

Hall has said his decision to leave Hollywood for good came after a 2020 arrest in Texas involving alleged huffing of air duster cans. Although no charges were ultimately filed, the incident marked a turning point. He has stated he had been sober for 15 years prior to the arrest, but the public nature of the moment forced him to confront the life he was living.

While Hall says he enjoyed making movies, he described the entertainment industry as a world he no longer wanted to participate in, citing concerns about manipulation, distraction, and his own struggles with addiction.

“I didn’t want to spend my life making things that distracted people or manipulating how they think,” he said, adding that the arrest clarified what he wanted to leave behind.

Hall rose to fame as Alfalfa in the 1994 film The Little Rascals and later appeared in Disney’s Get a Clue alongside Lindsay Lohan and Brenda Song. He also earned recognition later in his career with a Children’s Emmy nomination and work as a writer and producer.

  1. Kudos for taking on the courage to do this and kudos to his wife for having the courage to do it with him. Few people would take this gigantic step.

  2. Only real drawback, home-schooled kids are usually lacking a LOT of social skills, which can cause great harm down the road.
We are no longer an agri-type lifestyle, we rely on people more than we want to admit.

The Amish (and other similar) do it well, but they’re EXTREMELY close knit, in effect, their OWN support group.
    Good luch to you !
