Sandra Bullock’s Co-Star ‘Fighting for His Life’ After Fall

The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron is fighting for his life after a sudden medical emergency left him hospitalized and on life support.

Aaron, 41, who famously portrayed NFL player Michael Oher in the 2009 hit film The Blind Side alongside Sandra Bullock, collapsed inside his Atlanta home after his legs reportedly gave out while he was climbing the stairs.

According to his manager, who spoke to TMZ, Aaron fell during the incident and has now spent several days in an Atlanta-area hospital. A GoFundMe launched on his behalf says the actor was placed on life support due to a severe blood infection.

“Quinton is currently hospitalized and on life support due to a severe blood infection,” the fundraiser states. “This has been sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones. As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden.”

The message goes on to ask supporters to keep the actor in their thoughts and prayers while also encouraging donations and shares to help offset mounting medical and living expenses as his condition remains uncertain.

Aaron’s manager said doctors are still running tests and evaluating his condition, and there is no official word yet on what caused the collapse.

The frightening hospitalization comes after a string of health challenges for the actor in recent years. In March 2025, he was rushed to a California hospital after developing a high fever and coughing up blood. At the time, doctors reportedly believed he was suffering from Type A influenza and pneumonia.

Despite those setbacks, Aaron had recently made headlines for a major personal milestone, shedding more than 200 pounds over a multi-year weight-loss journey.

Aaron rose to fame for his breakout role as Michael Oher, the real-life football standout who was taken in by the Tuohy family. Bullock went on to win an Academy Award for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy, with Tim McGraw also starring in the film.

Fans and fellow actors have begun flooding social media with messages of support as Aaron continues his fight in the hospital.
