For months, Palm Beach insiders have been quietly asking the same question: where, exactly, does Melania Trump live now? This week, the answer took a surprisingly architectural twist.
While many assumed the former first lady was still splitting time between New York and Florida, sources say Melania Trump has quietly made Mar-a-Lago her permanent base — but not quite in the way people imagined.
According to insiders, Melania isn’t bunking down in the same bedroom wing as her husband, Donald Trump. Instead, she’s said to prefer the striking 75-foot tower perched above the historic Palm Beach estate.
Yes — a literal tower.
Built in the 1920s by cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, the tower was designed to catch ocean breezes and naturally cool the space. Over the years, it’s been converted into private bedrooms — and is now rumored to be Melania’s secluded retreat, far removed from the main living quarters.
Despite sharing the same sprawling 20-acre property, the Trumps reportedly maintain very separate nighttime routines. Donald Trump is said to sleep in the main private family quarters, while Melania prefers the elevated solitude of the tower — giving new meaning to “sleeping separately.”
Locals in Palm Beach claim sightings of Melania are practically nonexistent. While Trump ventures out for golf, the former first lady is rarely seen beyond the estate’s gates, fueling speculation about her famously private lifestyle.
Adding to the intrigue, Melania recently updated official court documents to list Mar-a-Lago as her permanent residence, ending months of rumors that she was still based at Trump Tower in New York.
And what’s she doing in her tower hideaway? Insiders joke she may be counting down the days of her husband’s second term — possibly while screening clips from her upcoming Amazon Prime documentary, Melania, directed by Brett Ratner, set to debut January 30.
From her elevated vantage point, Melania reportedly has a clear view across Palm Beach — and even the newly named President Donald J. Trump Boulevard — offering a heads-up when her husband is on the way home.
As one observer put it: princess tower, ocean breeze, total privacy. Just another day at Mar-a-Lago.

Still trying to figure out why is everyone making such a very big deal out of where Melania stays or sleeps??? Is that because the media news outlets have nothing better to report on??? Just like to some, it seem more important to them if Melania, Jane Fonda, Bruce Willis or some other celebrity or politician goes to the store and buys just 3 potatoes and the things that are happening in their own life. For example, just like a reporter once said, “ALL” of the 1000’s of photos that he had of Princess Diane, were worth nothing if the public would not buy them. Wishing everyone a nice day.
What difference does it make where the woman sleeps. I have never seen such stupid reporting. It is really no ones business.
