Princess Kate ‘Terrified’ Prince George Could Follow William’s Dangerous Obsession

Princess Kate is said to be “gripped with fear” over the possibility her eldest son could inherit what insiders describe as Prince William’s most dangerous passion — a thrill-seeking hobby she has never accepted and has begged him to abandon.

Sources tell RadarOnline.com that the Princess of Wales’ anxiety has intensified as Prince George, now 12, grows older and more curious about the activities that defined his father’s younger years. While Kate and William pride themselves on raising an active, sporty family, there is one pastime Kate reportedly sees as a nightmare scenario.

Motorcycling.

Friends say Kate has long viewed William’s love of high-speed riding as a terrifying risk — not just for her husband, but for what it could normalize for their children. And with George increasingly aware of his father’s past adventures, insiders claim Kate fears history could repeat itself.

“Kate has never been shy about how much she hates it,” a palace source said. “The idea of George wanting to ride one day genuinely terrifies her.”

William has been riding motorcycles since his late teens and continued well into married life, despite Kate’s objections. Over the years, she has made her feelings clear — even publicly. During a 2015 visit to Dundee, Kate candidly admitted William’s riding filled her with “horror,” adding she hoped to keep George far away from bikes altogether.

Those comments, sources say, weren’t a passing joke — they reflected a deep, ongoing fear.

William, now 43, has acknowledged that becoming a father forced him to rein himself in. In 2018, he admitted fatherhood meant “toning it down,” though friends say Kate’s repeated pleas played a major role in that decision. Even so, he has never fully walked away from the hobby, occasionally returning to the saddle during official engagements.

A royal aide described the situation as a constant balancing act between duty and desire.

“Riding gives William a sense of freedom he doesn’t get anywhere else,” the aide said. “But Kate’s fear is always there, and he knows how deeply it affects her.”

Adding to the tension, Kate is not the only one worried. King Charles III has also openly expressed concern about his sons riding motorcycles, warning repeatedly about the dangers of being unseen by other drivers. Insiders say those warnings still loom large within the family.

William earned his motorcycle license at just 19 and spent years bonding with his brother Prince Harry over long-distance and off-road rides, including a grueling charity trek across South Africa that cemented his love of biking culture. That history, friends say, makes it difficult for him to imagine forbidding it outright for his children.

But Kate, sources insist, is drawing a line when it comes to George.

“She can handle rugby, surfing, even skiing,” one family friend said. “But motorcycles are different. To Kate, they’re a disaster waiting to happen.”

As Prince George inches closer to his teenage years, insiders say the debate inside the Wales household is only getting louder — with Kate determined to protect her son from what she sees as a deadly legacy, and William caught between the thrill he loves and the family he’s sworn to protect.
