Where is Sam Beal?
That’s the haunting question gripping both the NFL world and the heartbroken family of former New York Giants cornerback Sam Beal, who vanished without a trace in July 2025—and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Now, seven months later, his sister is making a desperate public plea as investigators remain baffled and leads have dried up.
According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, the 29-year-old athlete disappeared shortly after dropping his girlfriend off at her home. He was supposed to head to work. Instead, he allegedly drove to Virginia Beach—then vanished.
He didn’t pack anything. No bags. No gear. Just the clothes on his back, a pair of slides, and his wallet.
When his car was eventually found, it raised even more questions: his shoes and socks were dumped on the front passenger side, and the floor was covered in sand. It was like he evaporated.
His sister, Essence Zhane, broke her silence in an emotional and increasingly urgent Facebook post.
“Tomorrow makes it 7 months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” she wrote. “We’ve done everything we could… and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends.”
“I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s,” she added. “I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure… I need my brother to know that we love you and miss you.”
Despite a public record of his missing status and social media pleas, there’s been no confirmed sightings, no activity on his bank card, and no explanation.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Kenwood Police Department at (616) 698-6580 or the Virginia Beach Police Department at (757) 385-4141.
Beal was once a rising NFL star, drafted in the third round by the Giants in 2018 after a strong run at Western Michigan. He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19, was released by the Giants in 2021, and had some legal trouble involving a concealed weapon and marijuana possession, resulting in probation through 2022.
But nothing in his history could have predicted this.
A promising athlete. A mysterious detour. A car full of sand. And complete silence for seven months.
The mystery of Sam Beal is growing darker—and time may be running out.
