Jimmy Kimmel Ending His Show with Donald Trump as His Last Guest

After more than 20 years of late-night laughs and controversy, Jimmy Kimmel is allegedly planning to pull the plug on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — and insiders claim his final guest will be none other than his biggest enemy: Donald Trump.

According to journalist Rob Shuter, Kimmel’s long-running ABC show will end in May 2027. One source called it “the last lap,” revealing that the comedian’s latest one-year contract extension was signed with a secret understanding: this is the end.

“Jimmy signed that one-year extension on purpose,” an insider told Shuter. “It wasn’t advertised that way, but everyone at ABC knows what’s going on — this is it. Full stop. The audience is on streaming, ratings are falling, and Jimmy knows it’s time.”

Behind closed doors, ABC insiders are already referring to 2026–2027 as his “goodbye year.” And Kimmel reportedly wants to go out with a finale that shocks America. “He thinks ending with Trump would be the ultimate finale — one last laugh, one last headline,” a source said.

The choice is bold, given the two men’s fiery history. Kimmel, 58, has relentlessly mocked President Trump on air — calling him a “threat to democracy” during his Channel 4 Christmas address and accusing his administration of “booming tyranny.”

Trump has returned every jab with double force. During conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s memorial service in September, the president accused Kimmel of fueling “radical left violence” and later took to Truth Social to celebrate rumors of the show’s cancellation: “Great News for America… Kimmel has ZERO talent.”

Their feud even led to a six-day hiatus of Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year after the host’s controversial comments about Kirk’s death. But now, insiders say Kimmel wants to turn that tension into a historic on-air showdown.

“Jimmy knows he and Trump are oil and water — but that’s exactly why he wants him as the last guest,” a source added. “He wants to end his career on live TV, face-to-face with the man he’s spent years mocking. It’s personal.”

If true, it would mark one of the most shocking finales in late-night television history — a collision of comedy, politics, and payback that no one would dare miss.

  1. I hate to see him leave but do Matt Damon instead of Trump. I don’t think Trump would come on the show.

  2. I hope Trump tells him to go to hell. Kimmel is not worth his time, energy, or effort. I have never thought Jimmy Kimmel was funny.

  3. While I have no doubt whatsoever that President Trump would handle a person like Kimmel easily. If I were the President I would tell him to go pound salt and not give him a forum with me. I would not add to his grandstanding.
