Man Nearly Killed by Elevator in Terrifying Video

What should have been an ordinary elevator ride turned into a horrifying near-death moment in just seconds.

A shocking CCTV clip from the Gujarat Housing Board residential complex in Valsad, India, shows a man identified as Vatsalbhai Panchal stepping out of an elevator after the doors open. But just as he begins to exit, the elevator suddenly surges upward without warning, creating a terrifying split-second disaster.

The footage is hard to watch. One moment, Panchal is calmly stepping forward. The next, the elevator shoots up so fast that he is thrown down violently as the platform rises behind him. In an instant, he appears to come dangerously close to being crushed between the moving elevator and the upper part of the doorway.

It’s the kind of accident that could have easily turned fatal. Panchal seems to avoid the worst possible outcome by only a fraction of a second, making the clip all the more disturbing.

Reports say he suffered internal injuries in the frightening ordeal, though he survived what could have been an unthinkable tragedy.

After the incident, property management reportedly said the elevator company was contacted to inspect and repair the lift. They also claimed there had not been any major complaints about the elevator before the accident.

The video is a brutal reminder of how fast everyday routines can turn dangerous — and why a single mechanical failure can change everything in an instant.

  1. Was the elevator installed and maintained by a Russian contractor? Seems like their quality of work in action there……..
