Whoopi Goldberg Explains Why She’s in the Epstein Files

Whoopi Goldberg is not staying quiet — and she’s clearly furious.

The View co-host went off during Tuesday’s show after learning her name appears in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein files, blasting what she says are wild online rumors trying to tie her to the disgraced financier.

“Now, in the name of transparency… my name is in the files,” she announced, as producers flashed the email on screen.

But what she says is actually behind that mention? A plane request — nothing more.

According to Goldberg, her name appears in an email exchange between Epstein and a redacted individual about arranging a private jet to Monaco for a charity event hosted by Julian Lennon’s White Feather Foundation.

“It says, ‘Whoopi needs a plane to get to Monaco… Julian Lennon’s charity is paying for it. They don’t want to charter so they’re looking for private owners,’” she read directly from the document.

The email even asked whether someone wanted to offer their G2 jet.

And here’s the twist: Epstein allegedly declined.

“So it looks like they said no thanks,” Sunny Hostin chimed in.

Translation? No jet. No trip. No interaction.

Still, Goldberg made it clear the internet has already run with the worst possible version of the story.

“People actually believe that I was with him,” she said, visibly frustrated. “It’s like, honey, come on.”

She didn’t mince words.

“I wasn’t his girlfriend. I wasn’t his friend,” Goldberg insisted. “I was not only too old, but it was at a time where this is just not… You used to have to have facts before you said stuff.”

She also pointed out that if she had any kind of scandalous connection, the tabloids would have exposed it long ago.

“Every man I’ve ever been with, you’ve known about ’em because either the Enquirer wrote about it, people wrote about this stuff.”

And then came the kicker: she never even boarded the plane.

Why? She doesn’t fly.

“She’s a bus babe!” Sara Haines joked, referencing Goldberg’s well-documented fear of air travel.

At one point, Joy Behar noted that President Donald Trump’s name appears thousands of times in the broader Epstein document dump.

Goldberg refused to get pulled into that conversation.

“I can’t speak to him, but I’m speaking about me because I’m getting dragged,” she fired back.

Her mission was clear: clear her name.

Goldberg isn’t the only famous face scrambling to explain a cameo in the files.

The Daily Show host Jon Stewart also addressed his name popping up in an email in which producer Barry Josephson suggested someone “like Jon Stewart” narrate a project.

“Excuse me? I am offended!” Stewart joked. “Somebody like Jon Stewart, or Jon Stewart? Do I have the offer, or is this an audition?”

But Goldberg’s tone was far less amused.

With millions of pages released, dozens of celebrities, politicians, and business leaders are discovering their names buried in emails, contact lists, and third-party correspondence.

As Sara Haines noted, a name in the files can stem from news articles, forwarded emails, or casual references — not necessarily a relationship.

Still, the damage of online speculation can move fast.

And for Goldberg, the rumor mill has already crossed the line.

Her final message? Being mentioned is not the same as being involved.

But in the court of public opinion, she’s clearly learned one thing the hard way — once your name shows up next to Epstein’s, the headlines write themselves.

  1. ” You used to have to have facts before you said stuff” said Goldie. Really?! If only it applied to her. Apparently only a one way street.
