Savannah Guthrie’s Eerie Confession Resurfaces (Video)

It’s the kind of coincidence that gives you chills.

As the desperate search continues for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother, Nancy, unsettling passages from the Today show co-host’s own memoir are suddenly back in the spotlight — and the timing couldn’t be more eerie.

Years before her 84-year-old mom vanished under terrifying circumstances, Savannah shared a story about playing “kidnapping” as a child — a summer ritual she described in vivid detail.

In her 2024 book, Savannah revealed that her older cousin used to stage an elaborate pretend abduction once a year during summer visits in Tucson.

“About once a year in the summertime, cousin Terry orchestrated a kidnapping of my sister and me,” she wrote.

According to Savannah, the game began before sunrise. She and her sister would be quietly woken up in the dark, ushered into a station wagon, and driven away while the desert sky turned pink and orange.

Somewhere along the way, they would stop at a payphone and call home.

“Mom, cousin Terry kidnapped us to take us to her house,” Savannah recalled saying.

Her mother would play along — feigning shock, protesting dramatically, then promising to come “rescue” them in a few days.

At the time, it was an innocent childhood memory. Today, it feels haunting.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1.

She was last seen the night of January 31 after having dinner with her daughter Annie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni. He reportedly dropped her off at her Tucson home — and she hasn’t been seen since.

The next morning, when Nancy failed to show up at a friend’s house as planned, alarm bells began ringing.

When her children arrived at her home, they found her gone. Her cellphone and wallet were still inside.

That detail alone sent shockwaves through the family — and investigators.

Authorities have confirmed that surveillance footage from Nancy’s Nest camera captured a disturbing image: a masked individual wearing a glove and what appeared to be a gun holstered at the waist.

A black glove discovered a few miles from Nancy’s home initially raised hopes. But after DNA testing through the CODIS system, investigators reportedly found no match.

So far, no suspect has been publicly identified.

Through it all, Savannah has remained vocal — and heartbreakingly hopeful.

In a recent Instagram message, she addressed whoever may be responsible directly.

“It’s never too late,” she said. “You’re not lost or alone. It is never too late to do the right thing.”

She added that she and her siblings still believe their mother will be returned safely.

“We believe in the essential goodness of every human being,” she wrote.

What once read like a nostalgic childhood anecdote now feels unsettlingly prophetic.

A fake kidnapping game. Pre-dawn escapes. A phone call home.

And now, a real investigation with far higher stakes.

For Savannah Guthrie and her family, what was once make-believe has become a living nightmare — one they’re still praying will end with Nancy walking back through the door.
