Actress and socialite Bijou Phillips is facing another life-threatening health battle — and this time, the clock is ticking.
Her representative confirmed that Phillips has been hospitalized at UCLA Health, where she is back on dialysis while desperately searching for a living kidney donor.
Phillips previously received a kidney transplant in 2017, with the organ donated by a close friend. But nearly a decade later, that kidney has failed, and she now urgently needs a second transplant.
According to her rep, Phillips has endured multiple complications since her first surgery, including the BK virus — a serious infection that can attack transplanted kidneys. The virus reportedly led to both cellular and antibody rejection, ultimately causing the organ to fail.
Despite the frightening setback, Phillips is said to be in stable condition. Still, those close to her stress that time is critical.
Her health struggles began at birth. Phillips was born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent the first three months of her life in the NICU on dialysis. She has battled kidney disease ever since — making this latest crisis especially devastating.
She is currently under the care of Dr. Anjay Rastogi at CORE Kidney at UCLA Health as she awaits a life-saving donor.
Now, friends and supporters are hoping for another miracle — and fast.
