‘The View’ Bringing Back ‘Controversial’ Co-Hosts?

The View is about to get a whole lot messier.

Producers are pulling out the big guns for Alyssa Farah Griffin’s maternity leave, tapping two of the show’s most controversial conservative alums—Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Abby Huntsman—to sit back down at the famously hot table. And both women are returning with plenty of unresolved drama.

Deadline reports that the rotating lineup will also feature reality TV star Savannah Chrisley, whose parents were pardoned by President Donald Trump after their fraud convictions. The casting already has fans buzzing, especially since several View hosts publicly dragged the Chrisley pardons on air.

Producers say the new faces are simply about “different points of view,” but the political sparks are guaranteed to fly. Hasselbeck spent a decade on The View trading blows with Rosie O’Donnell and clashing with her co-hosts over everything from abortion to Trump. Just last year, she called the show a “sinking ship” and claimed it refuses to put “anyone with a lick of sense” at the table.

Huntsman has her own score to settle. She walked away in 2020 and later blasted The View as a “toxic workplace” that “rewarded bad behavior.” She said the culture pushed her to leave and had nothing to do with her father’s gubernatorial campaign, as she had initially claimed.

Meanwhile, Savannah Chrisley kicks off the rotation on Feb. 17. She says she’s excited to join the show, even though the current hosts slammed her parents’ pardons as “unethical.” Chrisley fired back on her podcast, saying the women on the panel had mocked her family for years and even joked about what she “must have done” to get the pardons.

With Hasselbeck’s explosive history, Huntsman’s grievances, and Chrisley’s feud with the panel, the guest-host lineup looks less like a fill-in and more like a ratings-ready drama reboot.

Griffin’s last day before maternity leave is Friday, Feb. 13. After that, the fireworks begin.
