Princess Kate ‘Deeply Disturbed’ After Terrifying Intruder Incidents

Princess Kate is reeling after a series of frightening security breaches that hit dangerously close to home — stirring up the same fears Prince Harry has been fighting for years.

Sources tell RadarOnline.com the Princess of Wales has been “deeply disturbed” after an intruder entered the grounds of Kensington Palace twice just days before Christmas. Kate, 44, and Prince William, 43, weren’t home at the time, but insiders say the emotional impact has been enormous.

“This wasn’t a minor scare,” a source shared. “The idea that someone breached what should be their safest space shattered her sense of protection. Kate has been lying awake replaying everything that could’ve happened.”

The intruder, identified as 39-year-old Derek Egan, allegedly scaled a fence with a heavy backpack before being taken into custody. He now faces two trespassing charges.

And this wasn’t the first time. Last October, two masked men crashed through a gate and climbed a six-foot fence at Windsor Castle while Kate, William, and their kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — were asleep at nearby Adelaide Cottage. Months before that, another trespasser was arrested at the same site.

The escalating string of incidents has forced the family to lock down their Windsor home at Forest Lodge with a six-mile exclusion zone. Insiders say the intense precautions are necessary, but they’ve taken an emotional toll.

“Nothing is spontaneous anymore,” a palace insider explained. “Even something as small as taking the dog out has to be choreographed by security. Kate feels boxed in by it all.”

Still, there’s one thing the couple agrees on completely: protecting their kids. “Kate and William hated shutting down public access to Windsor Great Park,” the source said. “But once the conversation turned to the children, any hesitation disappeared.”

But there’s another unexpected ripple effect — the incidents have reportedly stirred new empathy in Kate toward Prince Harry.

After stepping back from royal duties, Harry, 41, has spent years demanding full police protection while in the U.K. His concerns intensified recently when a known stalker reportedly got frighteningly close to him during a visit to London — even inside a courtroom during one of his ongoing media battles.

Sources say Kate now understands Harry’s emotions better than ever.

“For the first time, the fear felt immediate and visceral for her,” an insider shared. “It helped her finally grasp why Harry has been so relentless about security. She hated reading that one of his stalkers was inside the court with him — it struck a nerve.”

And, according to those close to the Waleses, the ordeal has cut through old family tensions.

“When fear enters the picture, it wipes away old resentments,” a source said. “Kate’s experience has been profoundly unsettling, but it’s opened the door to a new kind of empathy. She understands now just how consuming those fears can be.”

The palace continues reviewing security procedures — but insiders say what Kate feels most right now is the one thing every parent understands: fear that hits too close to home.
