Jayne Trcka — the unforgettable bodybuilder-turned-actress who stole scenes as the tough-as-nails Miss Mann in Scary Movie — has died at age 62.
The fitness legend passed away on December 12 in San Diego, according to her son, who spoke with TMZ. The San Diego Medical Examiner confirmed to The U.S. Sun that “there was trauma to the body,” but her official cause of death remains undetermined.
Trcka first rose to fame in the 1980s bodybuilding world after moving to California and leaving behind her job as a postal worker. She quickly became a certified personal trainer — and Hollywood took notice.
In 2000, she landed her breakout role in the cult comedy Scary Movie, playing the hilariously intense gym teacher Miss Mann. That role opened the door to more screen time, including appearances on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, cameos in Cattle Call and The Black Magic, and even a spot in Lady Gaga’s iconic “Telephone” music video.
Trcka was also a familiar face in the fitness world, gracing the pages of Flex and Women’s Physique World, among others.
