Another Person Found Dead at Walt Disney World Prompting Investigation

Another heartbreaking incident has rocked Walt Disney World.

Authorities confirmed that a man was found dead near the Orange Garage at Disney Springs just before 9 p.m. on January 2. Police initially responded to a “person down” report, which was quickly escalated to a death investigation. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is treating the case as a possible suicide.

Witnesses say parts of the garage were taped off for over an hour as investigators worked the scene. One Reddit user shared that their car was behind the crime tape: “Had to wait another hour until homicide cleared the scene.” Another person driving by described seeing “police cars everywhere” and “crime scene tape on the first floor.”

The garage and shopping district resumed normal operations by the following morning, but the investigation is ongoing. The medical examiner is expected to perform an autopsy soon.

This latest incident follows a string of tragic deaths by suicide at Disney properties. In October, a woman named Summer Equitz, 31, jumped to her death near the monorail at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Later that same month, 28-year-old Matthew Cohn also died by suicide at Bay Lake Tower, located at the same hotel.
