A onetime American Idol hopeful is facing serious accusations — and he’s pleading not guilty.
Randy Madden, who auditioned during Season 8 of the hit singing competition with Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer, has been charged with multiple felonies in California after allegedly having sex with a minor, according to court records reviewed by RadarOnline.com.
The 45-year-old musician was hit with a string of charges including unlawful sexual intercourse, penetration by a foreign object, oral copulation of a person under 18, sending harmful material, and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
Officials say the alleged incidents happened between July and September 2025. Madden appeared in court via Zoom, pleaded not guilty to all counts, and was later released after posting $100,000 bail.
Court documents list his current occupation as “disabled.” Earlier this year, a fundraiser appeared online in Madden’s name claiming he was left unable to walk after a 2023 motorcycle crash that led to seven surgeries and months of recovery. The fundraiser included graphic photos of his injuries and pleas for help to avoid homelessness.
Meanwhile, a criminal protective order has been filed for the alleged victim.
Madden’s next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
