Pittsburgh police are warning people to stay away from the Garfield area “due to an active shooting situation.”
Public Safety said to avoid the 4800 block of Broad Street and North Mathilda Street in Garfield.
The area is near Allegheny Cemetery and around the corner from Children’s Hospital in a busy corridor of Penn Avenue.
A neighbor at the corner of North Mathilda and Kincaid streets said he heard more than a hundred shots during the incident.

Public Safety and Pittsburgh police issue a warning to avoid the 4800 block of Broad St. and N. Mathilda St. Garfield.
“I’ve never heard bullets like this,” he said. “Something you’d see in a movie.”
Numerous roads in the area were closed while authorities arrived to the scene, and shots were continuing to be fired.
Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported sheriff’s deputies were attempting to serve an eviction notice when the shots rang out.
