Forget about the letters, what about the numbers?
“Wheel of Fortune” letter-turner Vanna White is negotiating her contract to stay on the beloved game show past the 2023-24 season, Puck News reported Thursday.
She allegedly wants a Pat Sajak-sized paycheck, too, as the longtime host is set to retire at the end of the upcoming Season 41.
Puck claims that White, 66, makes $3 million per season — and has for 18 years, receiving bonuses not raises during that time.
In 2016, Forbes reported that Sajak, 76, earned $15 million a year from the show.
Their roles are different, to be sure. White leaves the daunting task of interacting with contestants to Sajak, with his cringy interactions recently raising eyebrows.
The report comes after an unidentified insider allegedly told the Daily Mail last week that White is scared she’ll be forced out of her role once Sajak retires.
The duo have been the faces of “Wheel” for more than 40 years, as Sajak joined the show in 1981 while White came aboard one year later.
Fans are rooting for her to take over Sajak’s job as other celebrities, including Andy Cohen, Whoopi Goldberg, and Stephen A. Smith, have declared they’d love the opportunity.
“American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest and Sajak’s daughter Maggie, who joined “Wheel” in 2021 as a social media correspondent, have also been rumored as contenders.
As for Sajak, he already has a new gig as the chairman for Hillsdale College, a private, conservative college in Michigan.
Vanna should get the raise and anchor job…she’s earned it!
She’s 66, retire and let some new young girls have brainless jobs…
THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT VANNA WHITE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT SHOULD RECEIVE THIS POSITION AND RECEIVE SAME AMOUNT AS THE WISE ASS WAS BEING PAID.
Pat’s daughter should get the host job and would be young enough now to last many years into the future. Vanna is not so young anymore and should be happy making as much salary as she gets today, no raise needed as she does less work now than ever before.
Vanna is already a millionaire…she has business deals going around everywhere. She’s lucky she has all that she has….people are greedy..as if she needs a raise …
