Two people have been shot and killed, and six others injured after a shooting in Red River, according to New Mexico State Police. They say all suspects have been apprehended.
Mayor Linda Calhoun confirmed the shooting happened at 400 E. Main Street during an annual motorcycle rally Saturday. She says biker gangs were involved in the shooting.
Calhoun enacted a civil emergency curfew Saturday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. to allow Taos police to lockdown Holy Cross Hospital. Albuquerque police is also securing UNMH.
NMSP say one victim is being airlifted to a hospital in Denver.
Danny Padilla — who was in Red River — shared a TikTok with KOB 4 showing police and ambulances pulling into town after the shooting.
Several witnesses in the area told us they’ve seen a steady stream of emergency crews heading towards Red River.
A video from Jess Rael showed a long line of cars leaving the town following the shooting while law enforcement cleared the scene in the background.
Several workers at nearby businesses said state police shut down every bar and restaurant along Main Street after the shooting.
