Prince Harry’s Latest Interview Brings Fans to Tears

In the ITV News interview, Harry says he wants “a family, not an institution.”

Prince Harry says he wants “a family, not an institution” and wants to get his father and brother back in a new interview ahead of the release of his memoir titled “Spare.”

In a promo clip for Harry’s interview with Britian’s ITV News network, the Duke of Sussex, 38, said “it never needed to be this way,” “I want a family, not an institution,” and “I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.” Only Harry’s answers, and no questions, are heard.

The memoir’s title, “Spare,” appears to be a nod to Harry’s birth order. Harry is fifth in line to the throne, behind his brother, Prince William, and William’s three children.

In the same edited ITV clip, Harry also said, “they feel as though it’s better to keep us somehow as the villains,” and “they’ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.”

The highly anticipated memoir will be released on Jan. 10, just weeks after Prince Harry and Meghan’s closely followed docuseries aired and broke records as Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever, according to the streaming service.

The six-part series, titled “Harry & Meghan,” made headlines about Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down from their senior royal roles in 2020, with Harry alleging “institutional gaslighting” and Meghan saying she was “being fed to the wolves.”

“To see this institutional gaslighting that happens, it is extraordinary,” Harry said in the docuseries. “And that’s why everything that’s happened to us was always going to happen to us, because if you speak truth to power, that’s how they respond.”

Following their exit, Harry and Meghan settled in California, where they now live with their two young children and run a foundation and a production company, which helped produce the Netflix series.

What we know about Harry’s memoir so far

When Harry’s book was first announced, the Duke of Sussex said it would be a “firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

The publisher said the book contains “raw, unflinching honesty” and described it as a “landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”

Harry last appeared publicly with his brother and family members in England in September, when he and Meghan attended funeral services for Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The Sussexes’ time in England during the mourning period for the queen marked the first time they both publicly appeared with members of the royal family in more than two years.

It is not known whether the tone or contents of Harry’s memoir changed after the death of the queen, with whom Harry had appeared to maintain a close relationship with despite tensions with his father, King Charles, and brother.

When the book was announced, Harry said he would be writing his memoir as “the man I have become.”

“I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become,” he said in a statement at the time. “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

  1. The title claims “Harry’s latest interview bring fans to tears” – LOL* I think they meant to say “both fans”. He doesn’t have anyone but meghan and her mother! He’s been so influenced by his wife that he doesn’t even know the truth anymore.

  2. The Harry duo did not show loyalty to family and tradition. How can they ever fit in again? Who will trust them?

  3. Poor spoiled babies! You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Either go back to your family and act like a man that can handle his responsibilities and ditch the tramp or stay with the tramp and live in your posh snowflake delusional life being the so called victims that you both are so good at promoting.

Good for Charles that he is standing his ground. The monarchy has stood for hundreds of years and isn’t caving to temper tantrum throwing whiney babies!

  4. This what he chose. He didn’t want to live in the Limelight. But is defeating the purpose for leaving. You are in the spotlight now than before. This not a way to have a quiet life.

  5. He wants his family back, but writing a “tell-all” isn’t the way to go about it. Everything they both said was all lies. Of course, Me-again had to start her mess back up now that HM Elizabeth can’t defend herself. She lied from the start of the train wreck of their “marriage” and will continue until the end. If Charles yanks the titles (like he really should after the “series” and this latest “book”), she will drop Harry like a hot potato and go find someone else with even more $$$$ for her needs. I say that he needs to take the kids and return to England leaving her behind. Maybe that way he can start the VERY long road back to his family. Perhaps even move to South Africa like he wants to.

  6. One can only guess how Harry can blame the rest of the royal family for the mistake he made by marrying and running away with the bitch that is controlling his life and re-writing his whole life story. Poor Harry!

  7. It leaves to wonder if you all on this comment section would have been more sympathetic, or fairly entertain both sides of this story, if it was a white woman Prince Harry was married to and was being mistreated by the media, public, and the institution? Whenever a “minority” gets to a position you guys believe they are not worthy of, there is never a “what if they are telling the truth” position but always they are lying, whining, entitled, or spoil brats, etc, etc. Pathetic!!!!! And lets talk about this irrelevant and absolutely useless Royal institution still existing today with the only purpose of sucking tax payers money to live a privileged life while parading around the world with their phony asses posing and pretending to care about the common folks. Give me a break. Princess Diana, the only genuine, selfless and caring royal there ever was, saw the institution for what it was and wanted no parts of it. Prince Harry is a carbon copy of his mother and only wants his family to be genuine and good people. He is all but telling us IDIOTS out here that the institution is not what it portrays itself to be and not worthy of the hard earned taxed dollars of the people it supposedly represents. But you guys are so far stuck up your racist asses, you are only focusing on the fact that a black woman is complaining. Do you honestly think if she was treated fairly, shown 100% love, and welcomed into the institution initially there would be complaints? She would never have jeopardize her safety, mental health, and her husband’s legacy if that was case. Believe it or not but Prince Harry and Megan is the karma of the institution. If you guys really think that living a life of dark hearten hatred and racism will give you a long life of blessings and prosperity with no bad karma, think again folks.

    1. Have you seen Meghan? She is whiter than I am. (& I’m white!). Also you are wrong about Diana. She was a royal supporter & wanted to keep her HRH title after the divorce. Harry & wife are NOTHING like her, she would be so disappointed. Harry is trying to live a non working royal life, rich by bad mouthing his family. Your entire comment is delusional.

      1. Nice try Az gal. Doing what you guys do best which is to spit non-facts as though it is. Megan can act as white as she wants to, in your eyes and all others like you, she is black because of her black mother. And that’s the foundation of the hate towards them. There was judgement against them from the minute they announce their relationship. The facts are out there about Diana and her feelings towards the Royal institution and how she was treated. She absolutely did not want to be part of the institution as she got older and realized what it truly is. Not to mention the fact that she was not in love with Charles and considered a disgrace/betrayal to the institution after divorcing Charles. They turned against her. But as I mentioned, Diana is white so of course her actions will be sympathized and never judged in your eyes regardless if here actions was right or wrong. Diana will absolutely NOT be disappointed with her son. As a matter of fact if she was still alive she would have encourage her son to follow his heart to ensure he is truly happy because that is all she would have cared about. You here trying to stand up for an institution that tells a kid to not show emotions over his mother’s death in public. Talk about mental abuse of a child. GTFOH.
