The Prince of Wales attended the wedding of ex-girlfriend Rose Farquhar, who auditioned for The Voice in 2016, as he continues to ignore shock claims made by the Duke of Sussex
The Prince of Wales spent the day at the wedding of his former girlfriend as the Royal Family continues to ignore the claims made in his brother’s Netflix documentary.
The future king was spotted at the nuptials of ex Rose Farquhar and George Gemmell at St Mary the Virgin church in Gloucestershire as business continued as usual, the Express reported.
Rose, said to have been the then young prince’s first serious girlfriend, was William’s childhood friend for years and they started dating during university.
The pair eventually broke up on amicable terms and remain friends.
Rose hit headlines in 2016 when she was on the then BBC show The Voice but ultimately did not make it past the auditions stage.
After singing Anyone Who Had A Heart, a song popularized by Cilla Black, Farquhar told the talent show coaches: “I have sung since I was a little girl, singing really makes me tick.”
She is the daughter of Captain Ian Farquhar, former Master of the Beaufort Hunt, who delighted in the news of her marriage to Mr Gemmell.
He told the Daily Mail at the time of the announcement: “He could not be a more charming son-in-law for the future.
“The Gemmells have been friends of ours for years. We’re absolutely delighted.”
William looked relaxed as he arrived at the happy event despite the claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan’s documentary suggesting he shouted at his younger brother.
Both King Charles and Prince William have refused to hit back at the explosive claims in the final part of their Netflix documentary, which dropped on Thursday morning.
One of the headline making-allegations was that Harry was left “terrified” when William “screamed and shouted” at him during a meeting about Megxit at Sandringham and claimed Charles lied while the Queen sat and said nothing.
He also said on the same day a joint statement from William and himself was put out without his permission or knowledge, denying a story William had bullied him out of the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex branded the move a “lie to protect my brother” and added: “There was no other option at this point. I said ‘We need to get out of here’.
Both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have declined to comment on the documentary, called Harry & Meghan, with the royals appearing to carry on with business as usual.
Palace sources said despite “a great deal of sadness” in the family at the nature of Harry and Meghan’s departure from the Firm, senior royals were “looking forward to 2023”.
Those close to the King and Prince William say they did not watch the series, but relied on aides’ briefings.
Royal insiders believe Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the family could be irreparably damaged after the Duke claimed William bullied them out of the Firm.
The deafening silence will hopefully shut Harry and MEaghan up. They are on VERY thin ice at this point and if Charles does indeed cut them off financially, I expect MEghan to whine and pout for days. Harry will then could find himself divorced and MEghan looking for a richer catch.
Shame on Meghan. She has ruined
