Man Found Murdered Inside New Hampshire Porta Potty

Investigators have released the name of a man found shot and killed inside a porta-potty in Windham on Thursday.

The body has been identified as Edward Johnson, 37, of Brooklyn, New York. An autopsy determined on Friday Johnson was killed due to gunshot wounds to the head. The case is considered a homicide.

“The circumstances surrounding this death are being actively investigated,” Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the attorney general’s office, said.

Johnson was found around 7 a.m. near the intersection of West Shore and Woodvue Road. A member of a road paving crew working in the area found him inside the porta-potty. Fire and rescue teams were requested but Johnson had been dead for an extended period of time so no lifesaving measures were needed.

The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit was then requested to assist. A K-9 unit was also seen searching the area around the scene.
