A Real Life Grinch – Woman Breaks into Home and Steals Christmas Gifts

An Athens woman is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and stealing Christmas presents and other items.

In a statement, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a burglary in the 25000 block of Beatline Road on Dec. 19. The homeowner who called said someone broke into her home and that items were taken from her residence, including clothing, money, a debit card, jewelry, and the presents.

The resident reportedly informed deputies that someone in her family saw the suspect, Sarah Rose Gregory, “kneeled between two hedges” near the back porch. Gregory reportedly ran away when she was confronted. Deputies ultimately collected some stolen items from the owner’s yard, including the card, clothing, and Christmas gifts.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner positively identified Gregory, who was sitting on her own porch, as the intruder. Deputies reportedly found the jewelry and money in Gregory’s home. She was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary.

Gregory was booked into the Limestone County Detention Center and was being held on $2,500 bond.
