Do the COVID-19 vaccines contain aborted fetal cells?

No, the COVID-19 vaccines do not contain any aborted fetal cells. However, fetal cell lines – cells grown in a laboratory based on aborted fetal cells collected generations ago – were used in testing during research and development of the mRNA vaccines, and during production of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Before we dig into the science, I’d like to have a word
It is true that decades ago, scientists decided to use fetal tissue to start the cell lines we use to test drugs today. However, the description of ongoing modern fetal tissue harvesting to create vaccines is dishonest sensationalism.
As a practicing Catholic, I think the moral balance of indirectly benefitting from an abortion that occurred 50 years ago in order to take a vaccine that will prevent further death in the community is a no-brainer – especially considering that so many of the over 620,000 American deaths have occurred in the most vulnerable and marginalized in our society. We need to focus on saving lives right now. We need to care for our neighbors.

Now, let’s break down the science
Fetal cell lines are cells that grow in a laboratory. They descend from cells taken from abortions in the 1970s and 1980s.
Those individual cells from the 1970s and 1980s have since multiplied into many new cells over the past four or five decades, creating the fetal cell lines I mentioned above. Current fetal cell lines are thousands of generations removed from the original fetal tissue. They do not contain any tissue from a fetus.
Vaccine makers may use these fetal cell lines during the following two phases:
- Research and development
- Production and manufacturing
When it comes to the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, fetal cell line HEK 293 was used during the research and development phase. All HEK 293 cells are descended from tissue taken from a 1973 abortion that took place in the Netherlands. Using fetal cell lines to test the effectiveness and safety of medications is common practice, because they provide a consistent and well-documented standard.
For the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, fetal cell lines were used in the production and manufacturing stage. To make the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, scientists infect PER.C6 fetal cell lines to grow the adenovirus vector. (Learn more about how viral vector vaccines work.) All PER.C6 cells used to manufacture the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are descended from tissue taken from a 1985 abortion that took place in the Netherlands. This cell line is used because it is a well-studied industry standard for safe and reliable production of viral vector vaccines.

soooooo. it’s not any babies that were aborted recently, but babies that were aborted a while back….how does that make it any more moral? baby cells are baby cells. So it wasn’t my grandbaby that was aborted’s cells that were used, but maybe “my” baby’s” cells that were used that I aborted before I became a Christian. Wow…that really makes me feel better.
For testing. Not in the vaccine. Why do you people only read the parts you want to? Anything to be obtuse isn’t that right? Testing is one thing practical use is another. What are they supposed to test against,dog cells? Pigs? Wouldn’t do much good would it?
The truth was stretched as far as the east is to the west about baby cells being used! Even if they were from 50 yrs ago, it still is baby cells that were used! How horrific in even considering the use of that immoral option!
It does not matter to me how long ago the aborted fetal matter was gleaned. It does not matter what the Catholic church says…since when have they made decisions based on correct doctrine? It is just downright wrong to withhold this information from the public from the start. They told us the Pfizer and Moderna did not have fetal matter from aborted fetuses in any form associated with it. See….this is why e have NO CONFIDENCE in Fauci, Birx, the CDC, WHO, NIH and the demented government that occupies the WH at this time. Now we cannot even trust our health managers (hospitals and doctors, nurses) and we certainly cannot trust the MSM media to give us the true and factual data….heck, we can’t even trust our food sources anymore after what I read about how desperate they are to get the Mrna into people…starting to put it into food without our knowledge. That is sinister…do not mess with America’s food & water sources. The question should be…WHY? Why do they hide the reasons they are so anxious to get these poisons into us? Besides population control…..are they controlling us in the future?
This is why we have no confidence in anyone who listens to trump. Doesn’t matter where they came from. Babies that were born would make a difference. Aborted cells are not something that has ever lived. Put your so called moral compass away. You do realize you may already have had a vaccine made that way. I on the other hand would prefer to live, and keep my family that way. I would hate to see anyone in something like an iron lung again. Or dead because someone has values that undermine our society. It seems intelligence in our race is reverting to the stone age. My body, my choice seems to be your mantra for vaccines, but god forbid it is used for female health care. Hypocries. My body. This is not a political matter. It is a spiritual matter. They knew that there would be a moral outcry. That’s why they hid it. What else, in life, have they hidden from us? This falls into the same category as some demented individual who seeks to contaminate our water supply. Wouldn’t you like to know of this before you drink the first drop? Abortion is not a matter to be taken lightly. Forget the nice little word ‘abortion’. Named correctly, It is outright, unperturbed, cold blooded MURDER by all involved. You are correct to say that your body is none of my business and not my choice, however, there is one to whom you will have to give account. He is our creator. He still owns our bodies and the body within which was murdered. His name is Jesus Christ. His Father is Jehovah. If you don’t believe that you are owned by the Godhead, then, behold the cemeteries. One has no choice of when they go there. Forget about the hypocrisy of others. In this world we have more than enough hypocrisy within our own souls to start our focus right there—–on ourselves. Anonymous, it would be a good thing if everyone in this nation read the Holy Bible (preferably the King James version) through at least once in their lifetimes, starting with the New Testament first and then the Old Testament. One thing for sure—-you are not ‘anonymous’ before God. Seek him while he still may be found!
My body my rules, you’re correct. As is this circumstance, my body my rules. No one forces or mandates abortions, like they did with the ‘vaccine’ why is it every other illness respiratory or worse, not mandated? You get chicken pox, you don’t need the vaccine. The black plague ended because humans eventually had natural immunity. My issue isn’t a vaccine my issue is the mandating of it. It’s clearly nothing more then politicians and religious leaders and many more making money off of it. I have to choose between my job and a vaccine? What if your job said ‘your pregnant, we can’t have you out for too long’ or ‘we’ll loose to much productivity, you need to get an abortion’ you would be angry. You got the vaccine, you’re safe, hope you feel that way, then don’t worry about me. Maybe most us Americans need real problems in their lives and stop living the lives they claim to live on Facebook and twitter and all those sites that do nothing but create division and perpetuate stupidity among humans.
