The man mountain spends hours and hours pumping iron, and as he approaches the big five-o, he is in ridiculous shape, quite frankly.
However, his abs – or lack thereof – have caught the eye of some fans.
The subject came up when Dwayne answered some of the internet’s most-asked questions during WIRED’s autocomplete interview.
His Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt revealed the question: “What’s wrong with The Rock’s abs?”
Naturally, Dwayne was a little affronted by the query.
He exclaimed: “That’s so f****d up!”
The former wrestler then offered up a rather grisly backstory explaining why he maybe has a pack or two less than you might expect.
He said: “There’s nothing wrong with them – no. Here’s the thing. I think because on Instagram, all these Instagram fitness models have these incredible six, eight, 12, 24-pack stomachs.
“I got like a five-and-a-half pack, sometimes a four-and-a-half pack.
“But the problem was – which a lot of people don’t know – I tore in a wrestling match, I tore the top of my quad off my pelvis, it went bang, in a wrestling match.
“And then what that did was that caused a chain reaction and it tore my abdomen wall, so then I had to do a triple hernia emergency surgery, of a tear, a tear and a tear [pointing to each tear].
“So they’re not like perfect abs.”
Yeah, so how about you stop questioning The Rock’s physique, you lot?
As he put it: “These f*****g a******s who are Googling ‘what’s wrong with The Rock’s abs?’ – well it’s called a wrestling match for 45 minutes and the top of my quad popped off my pelvis, and my adductor popped off my pelvis.
“And the pain I went through… I gotta fix that s***, I’m gonna Google ‘what did The Rock overcome?'”
Hopefully The People’s Champion can find some solace in the fact he’s got arms like tree trunks, pecks like boulders and thighs of thunder.
He’s rock hard all over basically. Actually, that sounds wrong. Let’s just move on.
